Tips to Control Milk Flow During Feeding:
1️⃣ Try Laid-Back Nursing (Reclined Position)
Lie back at a 45-degree angle and place the baby on your chest. Gravity will slow down the milk flow, making it easier for your baby to suck.
2️⃣ Use the Side-Lying Position
Lie on your side and let the baby nurse. This allows excess milk to dribble out instead of overwhelming the baby.
3️⃣ Express a Little Milk Before Feeding
Hand express or pump just for a minute before latching the baby. This helps reduce the strong initial letdown.
4️⃣ Offer One Breast Per Feeding
Let your baby fully empty one breast before switching to the other. This helps regulate milk supply over time.
5️⃣ Burp Baby Frequently
Burp after every 5-10 minutes of feeding to reduce gas and spit-up.
6️⃣ Take Shorter, More Frequent Feeds
Feed in smaller sessions to prevent the baby from gulping too much at once.
