A. Speech delay is temporary. It is a developmental delay such as a delay in gross or fine motor skills, language skills, social skills, thinking skills etc. Non verbal communication difficulties is an early sign of autism. Other signs are avoiding eye contact, using facial expressions that do not match what they might be saying.
