#AskTheExpert hi sir my son he is 3 months 27 days old he is having mucus stool and something like strings is it okay ??? he has lots of phlegm he is a bottle feeder

A. Hello, your baby boy is 4 months old and he is having mucous in his stool so don’t worry it’s either a cough which is swallowed or bottle allergy so just give him feeding

A. In most instances, mucus in baby poop isn't a cause for concern. It can be a normal by-product of digestion, especially given the fast digestion that babies usually have. Parents are likely to notice that a baby has mucus in stool one day, then doesn't on another.
