#asktheexpert Hi sir... my baby is 5 months old...she is suffering with cold and cough since 5 days... doctor prescribed medicine but no betterment... today my baby is troubling to cough phlegm is stucked at throat.. and she has runny nose but no fever...plss sir.. suggest me the medication

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child
you can go for indirect steam inhalation wxhich will again help in decreasing both cough and cold
continue the regular diet of the child
if there is no improvement in few days then meet your doctor
for fever and pxain give paracetamol.
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.
