#AskTheExpert Hi. My daughter is 1.5 yrs old and she is having a lump kind of thing in her right breast. The left one is flat and normal. But right one has something like lump. Is it normal or there is anything to worry about?

A. They are almost always benign and due to exposure to maternal hormones in the womb. The same hormones that cause the mother's breasts to swell and milk glands to be stimulated can do the same to the baby's breasts. These lumps and enlarged breasts in the baby may be quite noticeable at birth.

You Should get a check with your doctor ones because without proper assessment of the nipple of your child it would be very difficult to comment on it which is why I’m just going to simply advise you to consult your doctor ones regarding the same I proper assessment and check up would be required
