#asktheexpert Hi My baby is was born pre term, before 35 days from EDD. She is now 20 days old. She is mostly sleeping whole day, the issue is that she don’t drink milk while sleeping. She just keep sucking nipple of bottle for few seconds but milk isnt going. We have to struggle for 40-45 minutes but then also she is not drinking milk. What should we do

See it is completely normal for a child not to accept feed during the time of sleeping and sleeping throughout the day they can actually sleep for 16 to 18 hours and this age that is completely normal since your child is a premature child and maybe that is why the sleep is more for the child so you can ask your doctor if you can use a syringe or something to feed your child
