Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Few spoons of boiled and cooled water after feeding solids will be sufficient for a six month old. You can slowly increase the amount as the baby gets older. Too much of water can also fill the stomach and baby will resist to take other solids. Other than water Baby will get the needed hydration through breastmilk or other liquids that u feed. On an average babies upto one year can take around 60 to 100ml water per day if they have adequate Breastmilk or formula. If there is no proper hydration ur baby may pee in dark yellow colour. Usually babies sit around four to seven months. By eight months most if them would be able to sit without support for few minutes. But this is not a definite rule and some babies can have a delay in reaching milestone. This doesn't necessarily mean any problem. Your baby should get her muscles strong enough to balance herself and it could differ with each baby. So keep encouraging her to sit by keeping pillows on her sides. She should be sitting soon.
