Give her whole cow's milk and milk products such as ghee in small amounts, curd, home made paneer, butter and cheese. Give her lentils like moong Dal and urad Dal. Give her fruit milkshakes and fruit smoothies and add dry fruits powder to them. Give her bananas, avocados and pears. Give her cheesy mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. Ragi also helps in weight gain. Give her peanut butter sandwiches. Give her plain nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts, peanuts and raisins. Give her one boiled egg per day. Give her colourful foods such as paranthas with mashed vegetables inside them. You can try cutting foods into different shapes using food cutters. Try to offer her a bowl and a spoon so as to eat independently. Let her play with the food and make a mess. This is how she will learn to eat on her own by first touching, then playing and finally tasting the food. The family should eat together so that the kid learns good eating habits from parents and siblings. Praise her even if she finishes a small part of her meal. Offer her favourites along with new foods that you want to introduce in her diet. Persistence is the key. Keep offering the same food 10-15 times and someday the kid might just give in.
