#AskTheExpert hi my baby is 10 days old. her left eyes is having discharge from today morning. is it normal or should we take any treatment.

ExpertDr Priyanka KalraObstetrician and Gynaecologist4 years agoA. see it can be an eye infection or a block in tear ducts ok. see more you can ask your own treating doctor. i am sure they will solve all your doubts and guide yousee only the doctor who can see you in person can judge what is the right status. best to trust her

This can be because of blocked tear ducts. And it is very common in newborn babies and it get normal by its own once your baby turned six months old. After few days you can start doing a massage with soft cotton and warm water once in a day it will help in curing the discharge
