Q.

#asktheexpert hi ma'am, my baby is 10 days old and he still faces difficulty in taking the feed properly sometimes (sucking breast milk). he is born at a gestation period of 38-39 weeks and SGA baby weighing 2.5 kgs at birth. born through C section. pls advise what can I do so that he can take feeds without any issue.

A. Hello there, ma’am, please do not worry about it too much. Baby weight depends on birth, weight and normally doubles by the age of six months. Please make sure that the Baby is in correct position to latch to the breast properly. Also, you can use nipple shield while feeding the baby. Thanks and take care
