#AskTheExpert Hi Dr my son is 5 months old and his mother is breast feeding him but from last few days she is not able to feed him with sufficient milk as her milk is not drying a bit. Now can we feed him from any other source

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children3 years agoA. Breastmilk is always the best milk. WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding until six months. So far no one was able to make a perfectly alternate product for breastmilk which is highly nutritious and has some incredible elements. Formula is a close to and safe choice for those who cannot breastfeed due to various reasons. Breastmilk is always the best milk but giving formula won't harm your baby. Mother can try her level best to breastfeed. If she couldn't then u can supplement with formula as required.
