#AskTheExpert hi Dr. Arham is suffering from a fever for 2days. He is 19 months now. We gave him Campol syp and doxef drop today only.. is this enough?

A. After given a time the mentioned medicine we felt like he became well then again same temperature. How long should I continue this medicine?

A. Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamcol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/xddose as the first line treatment also this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever

A. Yes If your child is only suffering from fever Calpol is good enough to go for you do not have to give any other medicine you can monitor it for 72 hours still if you feel the fever is not subsiding or is increasing then you should immediately consult your doctor for
