Q.

#asktheexpert hi doctor, please help me my 3.1 years baby is not increasing his weight and height, weight is 12 kg and height is also 3.2 feet. I used to give all kind nutritious food what a kid should be given. But he is super active kid. Is there anything I should do? Please suggest.

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is fgmost common. Supplements like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. f Diet counselling is also very important .

A. The height of your child is good but the weight is little underweight 2 kg under weight your child is as of now so try and increase more of proteins into the diet of your child non-veg both along with the food that you are currently giving to your child
