Q.

#asktheexpert Hi Doctor, My son is 4years old. he is having red mucus in his stool. the stool test report says there is no blood. but I believe it is blood. smell is also bad. can the test report be wrong. I have gotten the stool test twice. both times report came as no blood. Iam worried. Please advice. Thanks.

A. Mostly blood in stool is present when baby is having constipation and passing regularly hard stools so you should increase more of liquid diet to the baby And include more of green leafy vegetables and fruits, which has fibers so if it's due to constipation, the reports will be normal only

A. An infection with shigella bacteria is called shigellosis ). It can cause watery diarrhea or diarrhea with blood and/or mucus in it.
