#AskTheExpert hi Doctor, my son is 10months old n he is suffering from fever cold and more cough since Saturday night...we have been to dr. n he has given antibiotics & nebolisation drops... after giving antibiotics his temperature will get little down thn again his temperature is getting too high... yesterday night his temperature has gone up to 104.5°C.....plz help n suggest wat should i do...

Cough and Cold needs to be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after the exact cause is diagnosed.may be infection or allergy.it may not be related to food items but seasonal changes may aggravate the susceptibility to get infected .
maintain good immunity of the child with proper diet and supplements.
if associated with fever too, calpol can be given three times a day..
give steamto relieve blocked nose and nasoclear drops multiple times.
Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given only after a proper evaluation according to the type of cough .self medication may not be so helpful so please consult your doctor once. if the cough is productive you can give brozeet-ls or ambrodil syrup for now only n continue only after dxslhoctor's advice.avoid refrigerated items and give simple home-made preparations a required.child may not be interested in food due to altered sensations of taste bud in illness will gradually begin to eat as symptoms resolve.
