#AskTheExpert Hi Doctor, My daughter is 2 years old and has learnt 10 different words untill now,and keeps repeating them since a one year age. Not able to teach her any more words,she keeps on repeating those words only, my question is she is 2 years old and not able to speak two word sentences or any sentences, whereas i see other 2 years age baby speaking sentence, and my daughter is still speaking one word , is this speech delay, and if it is what shall we do next? please suggest

sandhya buraMom of 2 children3 years agoA. Hi mom,you are saying all activities are normal...then no need to worry..,it's normal at this age.... try to speak with ur kid more time... and try to encourage your kid to speak more....

Hi doctor, thank you so much for clearing my doubt,my daughter doesn't have any other problems associated to it,she is quite normal and naughty regarding everything else,just that sentence framing has not started so I thought it is speech delay, else everything else is quite normal,like responding with called and maintaining eye contact and understanding whatever we tell her and doing that,just that she hardly speaks.if I tell her to bring the shoes she brings it, drink water she opens the bottle and drinks it but hardly she speaks what I am telling her.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. it is usually considered normal for the age and according to the details you have mentioned ,if not associated with any other problems repetitively,you should not worry it does not require any kind of treatment or medicine
if you have any more doubt you can get examination done once b'isy the doctor available nearby and get further guidance regarding this.
