#AskTheExpert hi doctor my baby is 2.5 yrs and weigh 11.3 kgs Last week she was having high fever and throat infection (bacterial). Now she is recovering but I don’t know what to offer her food. She is not willling to eat anything. Iam so worried

A. Loss of appetite will be their during fever..so keep offering different foods that your baby likes. don't force feed. Give your baby small meals with high calories, high dense, high protein diet at regular intervals. The food should be warm, less spicy, semi-solid and soft Give Warm soups which you preffer, boiled vegetables like carrot, beans, pumpkin. Fruits like banana(if cold,cough is not associated), apple, pomogranate juice, sweet lime juice, avcado, pear. Give oats, roti, daliya, Daal-khichdi adding some ghee. h

A. It's also very common for many infections that cause fever to cause a decreased appetite, too. As long as your little one is still drinking and peeing, not eating as much as usual is okay for most minor illnesses; no special diet is necessary.
