#AskTheExpert Hi Doctor My baby is 2.5 months old. Today she had the 75th day vaccination. During first vaccination she cried for a while and slept. I tried to console her by breastfeeding but she was not taking any feed.Same way for 2nd vaccination after the pain started around the evening baby is crying and not taking breast milk.We tried giving her some formula today and she took jus few sips. Is there any reason why she is not taking breast milk when the pain starts in the vaccination day

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry. Swelling can be reduced by giving ice fomentagytion locally and paracetamol can be given for fever or pain.h Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain and swelling .
