Q.

#asktheexpert Hi Doctor, my baby is 2.5 months old . she takes only an avg of 40ml max per feed but she demands feed every one hour if she is awake . could you help on how I can make her have more qty and have gap of 2 hrs min

A. you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk according to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is taking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittent burping . there is no need to to go for fixed feeding pattern. also there is no need d to wake up the child from sleep if the weight of the child is within normal limits . also if the weight gain of the child every month is normal then no need to worry regarding the pattern of breastfeeding

A. Yo child can easily have somewhere and 60 to 90 ML in one timing and say Joe child is not having proper is why your child is asking for for a feed every one hour when your child as a week so try to increase the quantity of milk for the child
