#AskTheExpert Hi doctor, if the mother has gas problem and she is breast feeding the baby. Then will the baby also have gas and trouble sleeping at night due to this?

Uma RamMom of a 7 yr 2 m old boy4 years agoA. Hello good morning !! Gas problem causes due to indigestion . Yes if mother had digestion issue then it will affect on baby gas or colic pain or motions, vomitings as baby is on Breastfeed. Heavy foods, oily and spicy ,dal items cause indigestion ,gas generally. Have more water and fluids avoid heavy, spicy foods.

Yea it can happen. if your breastfeeding you should avoid having chocolate, spices,caffeine, citrus fruits and their juices, Avoid gassy foods too like cabbage cauliflower as it will trigger baby. Ensure not to add not much oil and spice. Avoid green tea and other heat foods. Avoud cold foods
