#asktheexpert Hi Doc, My daughter is 5 year old and sometimes she has pain on the upper portion of her head. Not severe but she says that there is pain like when jumping and all. What can be the problem?

A. May be due to cold there are multiple causes of headache in children and for immediate relief you can give paracetamol which is a good painkiller also. see that the child is consuming plenty of fluids because many times less water in the body can cause headache. the other common causes are nutritional deficiency as well as anemia and decrease sleep and more screen time if going on according to age. paracetamol can be given maximum four times per day but if the problem is occurring again and again please visit the doctor to rule out any major pathology

A. Madam without check up it’s difficult to say what could be the problem maybe your child is having too much screen time on television that could be leading and sometimes when the child is in the sun for a longer duration can also lead to a little bit of heady but if it is regular that means a proper assessment is required
