#AskTheExpert hi Doc, my 5 year old has developed a rash on her butt cheeks and the area below it on both her legs. we visited our doctor and she suggested it was a fungal infection and have given a cream named Zocon to be applied. But the rash doesnt seem to have gone less and the cream burns when applied. please suggest

A. Try to keep the skin dry, as the fungi enjoy moist environments, and consult your pharmacist for an antifungal product. Generally, OTC creams will take care of the infection (e.g., Lamisil, Lotrimin, Micatin, Tinactin), but sometimes oral medication is necessary.
