#AskTheExpert Hi doc.. my 5 months old baby suffering from cold and cough badly... we have been using Vicks baby rub and Sinecod cough drops (8 drops twice a day from last 2 days) however not sure if it's working.. as he is coughing a lot since morning today.. could you please advise what should we do... your quick response would help a lot 🙏

Author of questionGuardian of a 4 yr 3 m old boy3 years agoA. Appreciate your electric fast response Dr. Vandan... have been using Saline water regularly and one of the Pediatrician has recommended to add Pediafast for cold n congestion as well.. . will take this as well n hope this helps... thanks

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. you can continue the medicines and then meet your doctor for other medicines This can occurs due to weather changes and temperature variations or simple cold and rarely infection.
kindly give nasal saline drops (nasoclear /nasivion s)every three hourly and since it is a salt water/saline water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and respiratory cough.
It will dissolve mucus in nose and throat.
Try to prevent temperature variations around the child and you can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor
