ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist2 years agoA. Hello there
Usually babies of this age take around 30 ml and this is only an average.
They can take more or they can take less also.
So it depends on the baby only
Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Babies have very small tummies. So at a time they can hold only a small amount of feed. So their
feeding pattern will be like less amount of milk at more frequent intervals like every two hours. This
will gradually increase as the baby grows older. After few months they will feed more at one go and
the time gap between feeds will also increase. Your baby will generally know how much he or she
wants and turn away from the breast or show some resistance which u should note and stop feeding.
Follow baby's lead. After feeds burp the baby well. If the baby had over feeding then he or she may spit
up or vomit which can indicate you that the baby is taking more than needed milk. On an average your
baby should be peeing anywhere between six to ten times a day which means the baby is taking feeds
properly.
