#AskTheExpert Hello sir, my son is 13 months old and his weight is 8.3 kg he is passing stools while eating or after meals, passing stools about 5-6 times, is this normal sir?

A. Hello,your baby boy is 13 months old and his weight is 8.3 kg which is less than normal 20% and he has a gastrocolic reflex and not loose motions

A. The most likely cause of needing to poop right after eating is the gastrocolic reflex. This reflex is a normal involuntary reaction to food entering the stomach. It does not mean food is passing straight through the body.
