#asktheexpert Hello sir/mam My question is Is cow milk ok to give to new borns ? As my mother in law gave him cow milk on his very first day and then i read some side effects on net and stopped cow milk and started nan pro instead but now my baby is not accepting formula as he is used to cow milk now. But I am still not satisfied with cow milk . Kindly help me with the solution

A. Hi thanks for the response. But here each doctor suggested me cow milk only. They said preservatives are there in formula that’s why cow milk is best

A. Good morning , Once your baby is past one year old, you may give him whole cow's milk or reduced-fat (2 percent) milk, provided he has a balanced diet of solid foods (cereals, vegetables, fruits, and meats). But limit his intake of milk to 1 quart (about 32–36 oz.) per day. Babies who are exposed to cow's milk before their first birthday are more likely to be anemic, have diarrhea or vomiting, and/or experience an allergic reaction (the proteins in milk are more numerous than those in other milk products, such as the yogurt).
