#AskTheExpert hello sir good morning My son is 3 years old. He is having constipation from last 4 months. I am giving him pegclear syrup as described by doctor, but there is not any sign of improvement. He clears stool as long as we keep on giving the above said medicine, once the medicine is stopped the constipation problem arises again and motion does not get clear. Please help me with your valuable advise. Thanks.

Constipation is a chronic problem seen in children and most important cause is diet modification so firstly it should be taken care of. give good fibre diet with plenty of liquids and avoidance of food whllich can aggravate constipation like Banana excess of milk and maida containing food.
medications like lactulose PEG or glycerine suppository should be second option
