Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello my due date is Aug 14 I will be 40 weeks pregnant with no sign of labor contractions. My doctor is advising me to get artificially induced and not to wait any longer for natural pains. Please advise me on this. I have no health issues and I have a healthy baby with an adequate amount of amniotic fluid.

A. Thank you for responding this is my first pregnancy. I think my doctor has asked me to visit the hospital for this reason today to do a sweep just two days before my due date.

A. Sweep stretch is a one good option that you can ask your doctor to do that that is going to be beneficial in triggering natural labour within 48 hours to you and after that I think it would be convenient for you to go for a normal delivery the labour could be on the longer side on the higher side could be more than 24 hours also but that is going to be a much better option because this is going to be a natural labour otherwise if your doctor say that inducing labour is going to be save then you can go ahead with that also whatever is more suitable to you
