Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello! My daughter is 6 days old and often falls asleep while feeding. she has a lot of trouble latching to my nipple. I am worried that she might not be getting enough nutrition. Feeding her formula milk is the last option I want to keep for the baby and make her feed as much breastmilk as possible. can you please suggest what should I do? Is it okay if I feed her formula for now?

A. breastmilk is the best food for your baby, as far as possible avoid formula milk. Newborn babies are extremely sleepy in the early days following their birth. An infant might move his mouth in its sleep and then continue sleeping. Before four weeks since birth, it’s best to wake him up every 4 hours in the night for a feeding cycle, and every 2 hours in the day for the same. once they drink enough milk to satisfy their hunger they turn their mouth away from ur breast.
