Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. straining while passing stool as well as urine is normal.
the child is crying due to colic pain (due to gas) and not due to the reason that the child has not passed the stool.
infants may not pass stool for 10 days also and if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid it is not constipation. you can consider constipation only if it is hard and dry stools.
you can give anticolic medicines and meet your doctor.
burping / upright position for 20 minutes will help in decreasing the gdas and future colic pain
Sarika guptaMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and constipation in babies at this age is very common and please give baby breastfeeding properly and exclusively and also massage on baby stomach clockwise and anti clockwise. Also give baby indirect steam twice a day.
Take care
