#AskTheExpert hello ma'am, my baby is not able to sleep properly due to the cold. She doesn't have a fever but her head n stomach are quite hot. She is cranky and I'm not understanding what to do in this situation. please suggest.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and accordingko to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of 2 children3 years agoA. itis gas. Physician should be consulted according to the problem need to be seen in person and need to be physically examine before giving any problem treatment for any medication. It is suggested to not take any medication by yourself.
