to generate proper vitamin d the child should go in sunlight between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for at least 10 minutes daily . if the child is not able to follow this then vitamin d supplements needs to be given.
after 1 year of age there is two options of giving vitamin d to the child. it would be advisable to discuss this with your personal pediatrician. when you are giving drops of 800 units you have to give 0.8 ml per day or you can shift to vitamin d shots of 60000 unit which can be given 5 ml single dose and has to be repeated every three months for the child.
weather any multivitamin or a calcium supplement is required by the child or not wixll be decided by the doctor. just continue to give regular diet from cereals s pulses vegetable milk and fruits which contains all the multivitamins along with calcium.
calcium syrup or tablet and the dosage will be decided by the doctor according to the deficiency of the child
