Possible Reasons for Not Gaining Weight: ✅ Frequent Loose Motions – Can cause weight loss or prevent weight gain. ✅ Poor Appetite or Food Intake – Due to teething, infections, or food allergies. ✅ Nutrient Deficiencies – Lack of proteins, fats, or essential vitamins. ✅ Infections (Viral or Bacterial) – Diarrhea from stomach infections. ✅ Lactose Intolerance or Food Sensitivity – If diarrhea happens after milk or certain foods. What You Can Do? ✔️ Increase Calorie Intake – Add ghee, butter, cheese, banana, avocado, dry fruits powder, and curd to meals. ✔️ Give Easily Digestible Foods – Moong dal khichdi, mashed potatoes, suji upma, curd rice, soft roti with ghee. ✔️ Hydration is Important – Give ORS, coconut water, buttermilk, and soups to prevent dehydration from loose motion. ✔️ Avoid Heavy or Spicy Foods – No fried food, junk food, or cow’s milk (if causing diarrhea). ✔️ Check for Teething – Teething can cause mild diarrhea. Give soft, soothing foods. ✔️ Probiotics Help – Give curd or probiotic supplements to improve digestion. When to See a Doctor? ⚠️ Loose motion continues for more than 3 days. ⚠️ Signs of dehydration – Dry lips, no tears, sunken eyes, less urination. ⚠️ Weight loss or extreme weakness.
