Q.

#asktheexpert hello dr. can we give vitamin D 60,000 IU to kids also. Isn't it too much heavy dose for kids

A. no it is not. the extra amount not needed get stored in the body and is used when deficiency arises. it is important to follow the instructions opinion advice and medicines course given by your doctor for the problem . they are safe if given by registered medical practitioner. do not take medicines not prescribed by the doctor . take a follow up in few days if it is not improving for need of treatment modification or any lab / radiological investigations.

A. actually its prescribed by dr itself, bt i still thinking that its too heavy for 5yr kids weight (17kg), just ask for confirmation.

A. No you can give it to the child it is supplement that you’re giving but the dosage would be decided by the Dr as per the current age and weight of your child the medicines are heavy but the dosage is moderate according to the need and age of your child so it would not be a problem
