#AskTheExpert hello doctor,when I did my 34weeks scan ,as per the report my AFI is 19.1 and baby weight is 2189gm,Is my baby under weight ,will their be any complications due to high AFI and low weight,my thryoid,sugar,BP levels are normal, please guide

Uma RamMom of a 7 yr old boy3 years agoA. Hello good afternoon !! Yes sometimes high AFI (amniotic fluid level) is risky .
However Amnitioc fluid level varies from week to week no need to worry about it as you are in 34th water level may reduce to normal level.
Having adequate amount of AFI helps in supplying good amount of nutrients to baby.
Talk to your Gynaecologist and follow her instructions have balanced diet,more water and fluids.
