Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, my son is 28 months old but he still doesn't speak as clearly. He can speak many words individually in our mother tongue Marathi. He tries to repeat words and small sentences after us. But he still doesn't form sentences. At what age do boys form sentences and are girls quicker at this at this stage than boys? Also, is this normal and wr should give him his time or are we being unnecessarily worried?

A. Speech of child Regarding Speech Baby usually start mono syllable by 6 to 7 months of age then by syllable words come by 9 to 10 months of age then by 12 to 14 months of age baby say two to three words followed by jargon speech at 15-16 months . child can start saying simple sentences by two years of age . just make the child comfortable and do more interacti3k9on with the child so that he can learn to speak sentences properly. if the speech does not comes even by three years of age you need to consult your doctor for a proper assessment of the child .
