#AskTheExpert hello doctor, my son is 21 months old. he is babbling and speakings few basic words like mama papa baba bye bas etc. I am worried that is it a speach delay. and what should I do.. he is born premature at 34 weeks.

A. hi dear Call your doctor if your child: by 12 months: isn't using gestures, such as pointing or waving bye-bye. by 18 months: prefers gestures over vocalizations to communicate. by 18 months: has trouble imitating sounds.
