Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello doctor, My son is 11 month old today. I have some points for which I am worried 1) he dont eat anything,only breastmilk is in his diet 2) he woke up alot for feed in night 3) he sit properly only if I make him sit,he don't sit by himself from lying position 4) he didn't start Crawl yet please suggest what should I do

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein ft containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is most common. Supplements like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. Diet counselling is also very important .

A. Hi mom give natural appetizers like coconut water, jeera water to increase the appetite of your baby. As the baby is not eating properly, so it waking up for feed many times during night. Some babies they don't crawl. They just start walking..so no need to worry. But the baby should start to sit independently now. If not sitting then consult your doctor for the same as he will prescribe medicine after the proper evaluation of the baby
