#AskTheExpert hello doctor, my daughter is 72 days old right now, what I read about newborns of her age is that they sleep 16-17 hours a day, but in my daughter's case she barely sleeps 10 hours throughout the day, mostly she sleeps even less then that. what can be the reason and if there is something that needs to be done?

ExpertDr. Hemendra GuptaPaediatrician4 years agoA. this us considered as a normal finding for the sleep at this age so you should not worry about it so just relax and all the best for you and your child

Hello ma’am You have read it right kids mostly sleep for long durations but not all kids so if your child is not sleeping for longer I was it is perfectly fine because every kid has a different sleep pattern and differently things to be worried about as such. And in any case or at any point of time till the time we do not see any discomfort to your child the things are normal
