Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, my daughter is 2 year 9 months, she is always very irritated and stubborn. Her iron was 9, so Doctor told me to start iron supplements and said after having it for 15 days her irritation will reduce. is it true that because of less iron babies are more active and gets irritated and always crying due to stubbornness? Also he told to stop milk as we will not get pure milk now a days, so how can I cover calcium for her from food?

A. yes it's, true, less iron can cause such irritation. do give iron rich food too.. like fruits like pomegranate, apple, raspberry, strawberry, kiwi, banana. Veggies like moringa leaves, Broccoli, Beet root, lufa, and Spinach is another iron-loaded vegetable. Dried apricots, figs, raisins and prunes. Are also good source of iron.
