Q.

#AskTheExpert hello doctor my daughter is 1.5 yr old .she got vaccinated before 4_5 days..since then she is having pain in her legs where needle inserted so that she can't walk properly...pls tell is this normal??

A. Fever is the response of the body towards any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body and only when the temperature is above 99F it is called as fever, so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment this dose can be again repeated after every 5 - 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever in between the doses ,but if it continues even thereafter you should consult your doctor for proper treatment. if the temperature is not controlled by paracetamol alone, meftal p can be given in between as a single dose but only under medical guidance.these medicines will also work to relieve any cpain or body ache. but in case of infection in which the fever is associated wkith other problems also it is recommended to get the clinical assessment done and get a proper treatment done by a doctor.
