Q.

#asktheexpert Hello doctor. My baby was born preterm at 34 weeks. He weighed only 1.72kgs. He is 10 months now and weights 7.1kgs. For the first six months weight gain was rapid and he reached 6 at 6 months. After that weight gain is really slow. Is 7.1 okay for his age considering his birth weight!?

A. dear Mum, a weight of 7.1 kg is fine for your baby at the age of 10 months. also if baby is active, playful and achieving all growth milestones then it indicates good health

A. Seven. One would be good if I look at the birth weight of the child but of course there is scope of increment so along with the food that you give please make sure that you’re giving good amount of veg and non-veg protein as well to cover up for weight of your child
