POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. If your 7-month-old baby is passing frequent loose motions, it could be due to a mild stomach infection, teething, or a reaction to a new food. Here's what you can do:
Keep baby hydrated: Offer breast milk or formula frequently. If advised by your doctor, you can also give oral rehydration solution (ORS) in small amounts to prevent dehydration.
Avoid new foods: Stop any new food you recently introduced, as it might be causing the reaction.
Feed easily digestible foods: Offer soft, binding foods like rice water, moong dal water, mashed banana, or boiled apple.
Maintain hygiene: Wash hands before feeding and keep feeding utensils clean to prevent infection.
Watch for danger signs: If the baby is passing very watery stools, becomes very sleepy, refuses to feed, has blood/mucus in stool, or shows signs of dehydration (sunken eyes, dry mouth), consult your pediatrician immediately.
Loose motions in babies usually settle within a few days with care. If it continues beyond 2–3 days, it's best to get medical attention. Would you like a sample diet for loose motion days?
