so offer water in few spoons of quantity after meal or during play time.

as your child is 6 months old ,and as you have just started to offer semisolid food to your it is better to offer food like mung dal Pani, rice starch which is easy to digest.
then gradually you can start to offer different vegetables fruit and rice.
initially it is ok to offer it once in a day.
whenever you introduce new food, offer it in very small quantity (3 tbsp ) and check whether your child is comfortable with it or not.
prefer morning time for this.
