ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician3 years agoA. no harm in giving formula, but if breastfeeding possible choose that
If your breast feeding your baby then continue to breastfeed at regular intervals and there is no need to give anything else apart from mother milk or formula milk to baby till he complete 6months of age as it is complete food that takes care of hydration as well as nutrition. After 6 month you can gradually start weaning with homemade easy to digest food items like rice porridge ragi porridge mashed fruits apple Puree, mashed banana chiku etc.
But whatever you are introducing should be introduced gradually with a small amount
HABMom of 2 children3 years agoA. try to breastfeed ur baby as long as possible, exclusively, without formula... breast milk s always best for babies... formula ll not affect immunity, but its not good wen u can breastfeed... Sterilization n cleaning of bottles n al carries risk of infection, if not properly done...
RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl3 years agoA. If You have sufficient amount of breastfeeding then it is good enough if you only breastfeed the child for at least a minimum of first six months after birth if you do not have it then you can go for formula feeding also it is completely an absolutely healthy as breastfeeding only for the child this is a complimentary feeding for mothers who cannot have sufficient breastfeed for the child but it is not going to affect the immunity or growth of the child for that matter
Jaya SrivastavaMom of a 5 yr 9 m old girl3 years agoA. mothers feed is the best for the child in all aspects. it is highly recommended to breastfeed the kid till 6 months exclusive but on the other hand do not stress yourself if you are not able to feed baby exclusively.
I have known babies with formula based who later had no issues with immunity.
Try to give the goodness of breast milk as much as you can. At 2 months, you cannot give anything else, just check that the formula you are giving is suiting your baby.
