ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. Dear mum, some babies gain weight slowly. If your baby has doubled the birth weight by 6 months and is active, alert and passing urine more than 7 times in 24 hours, achieving all growth milestones then do not worry.
For healthy weight gain, give homemade balanced diet having variety of food groups especially seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. Continue to breastfeed and give milk recipes like porridge, kheer and milk products like curd, paneer. Add ghee to every meal and squeeze lemon wherever possible. Give 2 to 3 meals a day and up to half katori every time.

At six months weight should be double to birth weight
Give adequate feeding
Breastmilk contains nutrients your baby needs for growth and development
It also protects your baby against infections and diseases
It’s recommended you breastfeed exclusively until your baby starts solid foods at around 6 months, and keep breastfeeding until at least 12 months
