Q.

#asktheexpert Hello Doctor. My 17month old is having a viral cold since a week now. Since a couple days her temperature when taken from the ear remains elevated at 38°C (100.4°F) but her temperature when taken from the armpit is normally constant at 36.7°C (98.06°F). Since the last couple days in the evenings until bedtime her head becomes warm to touch and thats when her ear temperature reads 38°C. Can anyone please advice why is this so? My paed says its normal and that the viral will take time to subside and its her peak development age so warm head is also normal. But i want a second opinion if anyone can help. Thank you.
