Q.

#asktheexpert hello doctor! Is it true that after opening any oral medicine bottle, we should use it within one month.. the expiry date given on the bottle is valid only when it is sealed packed?

A. yes once you open the bottle it should be used within 3 to 4 months and not after that even if the expiry date is long ahead the expiry date is mentioned only for the shield bottles

A. Only the powder based antibiotics should be used within five days after making them otherwise when you talk about any other medication you can use them up till their shelf life it’s not meant to be consumed within one months time it is just a misconception
