Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello doctor, I have issues with breastfeeding. my nipples are big so it is difficult for the baby to latch and she got dehydrated. then doctor suggested formula milk.. can you please provide me a solution to feed with large nipples?

A. continue to breast feed the baby and can give even expressed breast milk And also it is advisable for the to consult your local doctor for appropriate advice in this regard if there is need for some investigations also depending on the need o k

A. thank you for the response.. but she got dehydrated and lost 700 gms so doctor suggested formula milk which I am not happy with that.. will a nipple shield help to feed my baby?

A. hi dear If large nipples are an issue at all, it will only be in the early days and weeks of breastfeeding. Once babies get a little bigger, they will be able to latch on to larger nipples and take in enough of the surrounding areola to successfully breastfeed. It may just take a few more weeks than you expected.
