Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, Hope you are doing good. My son is 2 days shy of 3 months. I would like to bottle feed my baby when we go out. I am an exclusive breastfeeding mom. Would like to pump and bottle feed when we go out alone. I tried feeding the baby through traditional feeder and filler, but he spits all the milk out and starts to cry out loud. Initially my baby didnt latch and i had to pump and feed him through traditional feeder. But since he started to latch, i didnt use the feeder at all. I have flat nipples and scared to use bottle for feeding. Could you advice if i can bottle feed my baby? If yes, could you suggest a bottle which will not cause nipple confusion. Looking forward for your answer.

A. Make the milk flow smoother: You can do so manually, or you can even pump your breasts before your baby latches on. ... Timing is important: The baby needs to be hungry to latch on, and that is the only way by which you can motivate him to give it a try.
